Topics discussed include the fundamentals of modern Wicca as descended from spiritualism in ancient European cultures, and the parallel development of ritual practices. This course will discuss the differences between Wicca and Witch, Witchcraft and Magick.  It will also serve as a basis of knowledge for further study of nature-based spiritualism. Designed to be accessible to someone with little or no previous knowledge of these topics.

A look at the seasonal energies, themes, and  observances that occur during the annual cycle of our planet. In the journey to a deeper understanding of earth magick, the student must learn to reconnect to the environment by reading the sky as the early humans did. The student will learn about the Wheel of the Year, a seasonal calendar used by many ancient societies of the world. This course will trace the cycle of the seasons and examine some of the ritual observances created to commemorate and celebrate the ever-changing cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth. Along the way, the student will learn simple techniques of traditional earth magick practices that are appropriate to each season.

A basic course designed to acquaint you with the physical and psychic characteristics of surviving Neolithic sites, and offer some insight into the spiritual and psychic aspects of these ancient spaces. This is a fun tour of the area of the British Isles, including England, Scotland, the Orkney Islands, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Dr. Pipes uses her personal photos, and delightful insights into the characteristics of three categories of early man-made structures: stone circles, burial chambers, and early villages. This study will focus on her personal experiences of interacting psychically with these sites. This tour will also offer suggestions on how to enhance your own visit to Neolithic sites in general and she teaches effective protocols for psychic protection, as well as proper entry and exit procedures for the “psychically-sensitive traveler.”

Earth Magick 104. Ritual Songs for the Wheel of the Year. A course designed to meet the needs of the those wishing to celebrate the eight ancient holidays, or sabbats, on the calendar called the Wheel of the Year. Music is an important element of these celebrations, but locating appropriate sabbat music can be difficult. This course will feature 24 songs, 3 for each ritual, suitable for use in each of the eight holidays. Each song will be presented as downloadable sheet music. I will discuss the various uses of music in a typical ceremony and I will illustrate specific uses for each song in this course. To aid the student in learning these melodies, each song will include an MP3 audio file, so that the student may view the sheet music and listen to the tune. The sheet music for each song will be presented in two versions: one with lyrics and one without lyrics. Students are encouraged to try their own hand at writing lyrics and personalizing these tunes for themselves and their unique celebrations. Melodies will be drawn primarily from authentic Medieval and Renaissance songs. I will also offer suggestions for well-known folk melodies that can easily be adapted for use in sabbats.
